Profile Overview
Modification and rebuilding of the existing road and pedestrian Mill Road bridge to facilitate construction of an additional rail track underneath and construction of an extended cycle route.
The scheme required temporary closure of the bridge and the construction methodology was developed to maximise temporary pedestrian access.
The permanent works include, installation of impost beams, installation of pre-cast units (, backfilling to precast units, grouting units, waterproofing units, brickworks to external elevations, footpath construction, GRP panelling & installation of anti-climb protection measures. The scheme provided four artwork panels on the internal face of the bridge parapet to be decorated at a later date.
