• New station buildings and Forecourts – e.g. Hassocks (see project profile) and Redhill.
• Station Facilities and Environment – e.g. London Lines (Gospel Oak to Barking), Department for Transport (Numerous ramps and subways) and Transport for London.

We would particularly highlight the recently completed Horley Transport Interchange as being especially relevant. TTPP provided one stop shop surveying and design services and the success of the delivered scheme is reflected by the fact that it won the Station Excellence at 2008 HSBC Rail Business Award.

TTPP were engaged by Southern on behalf of Surrey County Council and Network Rail to provide ‘one stop shop’ surveying and design services in the delivery of the Horley scheme and in the course of undertaking this and other schemes we have become fully conversant with the particular requirements of projects of this kind including:

• Landlord (Network Rail) and third party (adjoining Landowners, Local Authorities etc.) approvals and liaison.
• Drainage issues as governed by the Building Regulations, the local water authority and the Environment Agency and the results of percolation and associated soil testing.
• Contaminated land issues including possible remediation where required.
• Hard and soft landscaping design based on ground conditions (CBR Tests etc.) and Employer’s requirements (e.g. Permanent Way vehicle loadings etc.) and Network Rail Guidelines.
• Buried services including ground penetrating radar scans and subsequent investigations.
• Security provisions including CCTV.
• DDA / Accessibility provisions.
• Optimum parking layouts and orientation.
